The Aintree Advantage
A brown-field development in Takanini, Aintree amalgamated two titles consisting of existing storage yards and buildings to produce a 4,369m² warehouse and adjoining office which has completely transformed the sites.
This development wasn’t without its challenges. Particularly being built on the peat-prolific land of Takanini, this building had to take full advantage of Aintree’s In-house engineering services to engineer a design completely suspended on wooden piles – all 427 of them!
Further engineering solutions were found to counter the overland flow issues from storms due to the proximity to the stormwater pond adjacent. Again Aintree’s engineered solution proved to be perfect, with the site completely unaffected by Aucklands ‘1 in 100 year’ floods at the beginning of 2023.
